Day 3

Today was a crazy day. I had to take Bessie (my truck) to Brighton Ford to get new ball joints and an alignment because she got new tires last week (the original tires made it 86ooo miles). I went super early and the shuttle brought me home so I did not bring my camera with me...oops. I also met Kimmy (my amazing digital artist and dear friend) at Buen Gusto in downtown Brighton for lunch, still no camera) then over to Two Brothers Coffee House for the greatest dark chocolate mocha in the universe and on to The Vitamin Store for some vitamins and catching up with resident nutritionist and dear friend Shelly. Finally, Mark took me to get my camera and I was able to photograph the rest of the day's events. We went to the Mill Pond and fed the ducks, a tradition for many years, walked around downtown, I took some pics and then I had to take Mark and Zack to Oh My Lolli (they have been hearing me rave about the customer service and had to see for themselves). I first heard about them on channel 2 news, but Sebastian LOVES them and said the owner's were the bomb, so I went and ordered some Christmas gifts form them...and the rest is history. We had a blast at Oh My Lolli and Mark and Zack LOVED everyone there. Then I got to pick up Bessie, she is all better now. I took a few pics there and at the Cadillac dealership next to Brighton Ford (I am in LOVE with the CTS V...it is the baddest 4 door on earth,I want one in BLACK) This car is the only vehicle that I would consider owning that wasn't either Bessie or a FORD in general. LOVE IT!!! Anyway, I took more pics at Old Navy before going home, but I learned today that I will need to keep my tri-pod with me at all times (I took it out of my truck when I was at the dealership) and I may start experimenting with some flash and painting with light techniques...maybe for New Years. Tomorrow is New Year's Eve and I have to cook something for a party I am attending...yuk. Sorry this post is so long...talk to you tomorrow or next year...

Life As I See It-Day 2

Erin-The Entertainment at Studio 103. I am also photographing her wedding this summer...I can't wait!!!
Danielle had to smoke BEFORE she did my nails...hmmmmm. Danielle and I have been friends for over 20 years

Bernice's beautiful home...she totally restored it. I drive by frequently to steal decorating ideas!

My absolute favorite restaurant. Reminds me of Cheers...but no beer!!! My niece, Kayla works here too and we are very tight with our regular server, Stacey.
101 Grand River Rd. Brighton, Michigan

My current fave dish at Lil Chef...Jimmy's Tuna Casserole. YES, those ARE potato chips on top...yummmmmmmmmm.....

Night traffic with slow shutter speed. This would be so much cooler in Detroit, New York or LA, but since this is Life As I See It, it's Brighton, Michigan....

Neighbor kids playing night hockey

I really love the lighting on this one.

Cool action shot

Love this shot of the girl watching the game

I think it's cool how you can see their breath

Day 2

Today I learned how cool it is to have your tri-pod on you. I was able to take some pics that I would have never been able to take without my tri-pod. For years I have driven by a church on Grand River in Brighton and thought how cool it would be to take pics of the Nativity Scene in front of the church, but never had my tri-pod so never took the pics. I also always see the neighborhood boys playing hockey in the backyard pond of a neighbor's home and thought how cool it would be to take pics of that too. As part of the project, I have to carry my camera and tri-pod with me wherever I go, so I was able to take those pics. It was 12 degrees out though, so that sucked. Also, I went to my friend Danielle's salon (Studio 103 in Howell, Michigan, off of M-59) and got my nails done. I tried to get pics of the Barista making my coffee at a certain coffee house on M-59, by Kroger, but he told me I could not take any pics...I will not go back (I wonder how many places I will boycott after this project is over?) Oh well...Here are todays pics....

Life As I See It-Day 1

OK...being new to Blogging and not really knowing what I am doing...here are the photos I forgot to post from Day 1

Life As I See It-Day 1

As a New Years Resolution (that I am planning to follow through with...unlike the weight loss resolutions) and in honor of a terrific movie I saw called Julie and Julia, I am commiting to carrying my camera and tri-pod with me everywhere I go on a daily basis and taking pics of my encounters. I am hoping in doing so, I will greatly improve my craft and in the process, I will collect some cool images along the way.

I have started a few days early because I am currently not working and quite frankly, needed something to do. I actually started yesterday, but didn't get around to setting up my Blog until today because I had to find out how to do it by asking Erin at Studio 103 in Howell, Michigan.

My first day, I went to Cohoctah to get my raw milk at Dairy Delight (it is truly the best) where I have a cow share. I took some pics of the cute cows waiting to get milked and some pics around town in Cohactah. I also took some sunset photos in Brighton.

Until tomorrow-
