Day 28
May the lives I've touched speak for me
After church, Mark and I drove around in Royal Oak and Warren while waiting for Kevin's visitation to begin at 4pm. Royal Oak has some really cool stuff, I cannot wait until it's warm so I can just go down there and people watch (with my camera, of course) I think the flags at the veteran's memorial being at half staff were so fitting for the day and this Blog. Kevin will be sorely missed by so many. I wanted to share with everyone what Kevin's family had on the inside of Kev's casket...It said: May the lives I've touched speak for me. This is so true of Kevin's life. He has made me a better person for knowing him, he has left a GIANT, GAPING HOLE in my heart. I would only suggest one thing to you, my friends, (unsolicited advice alert)ALWAYS make time for those you care about, ALWAYS make time to talk to them when they call, you never know when they will be taken from you. I am grateful for the day I met Kevin and his family, they will always be a big part of my life. Kevin brought all of these people into their lives so they could comfort his family when he was gone. In the end, it does not matter one bit how much money you have or what kind of job you have, what matters is how many friends you have and what kind of relationships you have with them and your family. Do you have time for them? Or are you too busy? I hope I am never too busy to show people I care. I am so grateful that Kev knew I loved him, everyone should know how much we care about them at all times. OK...unsolicited advice is over...
My favorite place to be this week was my home!!! My home with all of my family and crazy pets. Our feline family member Corrina also passed away this week, but she had a long and wonderful life. We will miss her sassiness. This was a rough week and as Dorothy said in The Wizard of Oz..."There's no place like home."
Until Tomorrow,
Shirley
