The Carriage House in Howell...this place has everything. If you are looking for fun gift ideas, this is the place to go. I go there to steal decorating ideas too.

I just LOVE the job they do with their storefront!!!

The Carriage House has THE BEST storefront.

Alley in Howell. I love the lighting. This is one of my favorite spots to photograph people (during the day)

I also like this window (mostly the eco-friendly deer mount on the wall) this is in Howell, but I forgot the name of the designer who's studio this belongs to...oops.

I was taking a pic of some of the storefronts in downtown Brighton and this bus zoomed by...happy accident as far as I am concerned. This picture would have been total crap without the bus!!!

Pawsitively Spoiled (Brighton) is a really cute pet boutique where you can buy all sorts of goodies for the spoiled 4 legged ones in the fam. They also have puppies for sale there. I asked where she gets them (as I am strongly opposed to puppy mills) and she said she gets them from private breeders. Her place is cute and she has daycare and grooming as well. She is a sweetie too.

Aprons hanging on the wall at Sweetie-licious Bake Shop in DeWitt

This sign rocks...and I am so glad that what I ate at Sweetie-licious stays at Sweetie-licious...

Sweetie-licious mission statement

This says it all...I love it, so retro.

Making the goodies...mmmmmm.

This sign hangs over the register. This place is just way too cute...everything about it is cute.

At Sweetie-licious, you are not just eating pies, you are eating National Award Winning Pies...Oh yeah!!!!

Some of the many awards they have won for making the greatest pies on the planet!!!

I think it is so cute that they have funky things everywhere, like these rolling pins hanging from the ceiling in the baking area.

Everything is made with love and a smile at Sweetie-licious

Isn't this place just too adorable? You must go there.

More cuteness

I love the tables...

This pie chart is so adorable too.

Little old child's oven with a pie in it.

I had the best lunch ever. This was a Maple-Bacon, Cheddar, and Apple Quiche. It was the most amazing quiche I have ever eaten and I eat
alot...the blackberry muffin was fab too.

I bought this pie for my boys. They LOVED it. It was absolutely fab!!!

Look at this Butterscotch Praline Cream Pie....HOLY COW!!!!

Butterscotch Praline Cream Pie...OMG!!! I want it!!!

This is an amazing bake shop in DeWitt called The Sweetie-licious Bake Shop
108 N. Bridge Street DeWitt, MI. 48820
517-669-9300
They have won many national pie contests as well as Food Network Pie Challenges
This is the coolest place, very retro. But the best part is the food...ALL of it.

This place in Holt was called The Legacy Inn. I had to take a picture of it simply because you just don't see cool old farms like this. The barns were as gorgeous as the house. I can't wait to see it in the summer. I will come back to photograph it then.
Day 9
Today I worked in Holt. I didn't find the waterfall that Lisa told me about, but I did stumble across this great old farm, those were the days. I want to go back in time when families had great farms like this one. After work, I found out I was only 15 minutes away from The Sweeti-licious Bake Shop in DeWitt...OH YEAH...that's what I'm talking about. Their pies have won national awards as well as Food Network Challenges. They are awesome. The whole environment there is so cute and retro, they even wear vintage aprons. Even the bathroom is cute. See for yourself. (I noticed I say "cute" alot when referring to Sweetie-licious...I can't help it, It's SO DARN CUTE) When I got back to Brighton, I had to kill an hour before my business cards were finished at Staples so I drove around Brighton and Howell and took pics of some storefronts and windows. My favorite was The Carriage House. I am happy it is snowing, but think we need about 4-6 inches so I can take some fun snow pics...and Mark and Matt can plow, plow, plow...BRING ON THE SNOW!!! Back in Holt tomorrow, hopefully I will find the waterfall.
Until tomorrow,
Shirley
mmmm you make me want to go eat Pie there! Too bad I'm like, 1500 miles away!
